Display Version 3.0

Progressing~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Before I came here, lots of people said that about culture shock, reasoning various history and various beliefs. In the foundation class it's called the "idea shock", I really get some fresh and innovated thoughts both from Eric - my instructor, and my friends - Michelle. They gave me lots of suggestions, all these suggestion reminds me the saying of Bauhaus - less is more!

This is schematic model, box=robot hand
people model is for showing how it's looks
like compared with normal people.
Use wires as the skeleton for 'hand',screw
them in hand shape

some sketches of the hand

For my origin idea, I would like my wall is huge and long, but after the feedback of Eric, I realize that the hand is small and multiple for ring-watch shouldn't be too much. Then, thinking of the materials, first one of wood on the last posts is failed, then uses wire instead - modern and just fit the robot idea.

But one thing is, I can not use silver wire because the ring is grey like silver. So copper wire will be the best choice! I hope I can find it in a beading store...do they have...

Display.

Use "GESTURE" idea build the display "gesture" wall.
Bubble Wall.
I haven't decide to use semi-ball or round-square. Gesture hand inside of the bubble, not like human hand but like the Japanese Robot hand. Also I will use my poster as the cover for wall. Till now, there is at least 3 kind of material I should use.

Hard to figure out the material for robot hand including the scale, way of adhesive and the connection between my ring-watch.

PACKAGING- FINAL!

After many many drawings and brainstorming, something came into my minds - beauty & beast. Once this was my favorite movie when I was a child. I remember the rose in the glass which is beautiful and mysterious. Since my thoughts contains the same idea of transparency material like this, glass - rose becomes my original thought so that I can get deep into this making the final one.

Drawing & drawing again. Keep thinking and making progress for this idea. Put a finger in a transparency box? No, that's scared. Short the box that I want like a UFO. But the feedback I got from the class is that UFO-shape is so common in food package.

Make change of shape is one good direction for me now. So, let's see the final one. To be honest, I like this so much. But...

The disadvantage of this is that it's too small for craft. After the idea down to the earth, I started making models:

Final one is like this:

Basically, the material I used is listed above in picture. Well...someone confused about lace, I choose lace because the small tiny model is not so easy to manipulate so the standing for the ring-watch is not so beautiful but a little ugly. So I choose the lace which is also a little transparency and meanwhile it's looks grace, lace covered the ugly part for this model.

At last it turns out that few people love it... What a pity...for my idea.

Thanks for viewing~

Containment!

Package design for my object. More and more people pay more attention on package design, why? For merchant, goods with a good package could selling in a high price than a normal one. For customer, like me, I will more treasure a well packaged object than a poor one. Package promote the goods with brand, color, shape and so on.

Remember my object? The ring like a watch.

For some sketch drawing, I made lots imaging what it would like, because I always have many ideas, but as is known to everyone, most ideas can't come true, so I drew a lots: (Usually, ring always lay in a box, a cube or that kind of box)
looks like a stone

When someone died, there's a bag contains his/her things,
this is just a interesting one only for drew and wide my minds

For designers, we should consider the customers(who will buy it, age, gender);product - do they keep the container after open it or they just throw away them; For myself, make full use of my own experience and design style.

For example, most jewelry's packages are not only package help promoting but a container for customer who will buy the product.

As customers, let's consider the lazy group of the people, for them, they would like to buy a easy-open container than a complex one, right? Who want to buy a box that one don't know how to open it...especially for a ring.

As object itself, they want to find a master and have a nice coat(container), so the coat need to made to measure!
