Hi Ding, my name is Sara and I am in most of your classes =) I will come introduce myself in person next week again, but I will be commenting on your posts for the semester!
ReplyDeleteI was really intrigued by how you chose to incorporate sign language into your project. I think you're onto something with this idea.. The "gestures" campaign comes off as emotional, and is open for a wide variety of interpretations by the various viewers. This could be good, but also confusing as to exactly what it is your ads are promoting.
I think the "Love" and "Party On" ads are successful at suggesting to the consumer a type of lifestyle and affection for life, as well as the watch-ring. The bright, neon colors juxtaposed onto a black and white, simple sketch are very eye-catching and intriguing! Good job with that.
Id say its a pretty solid idea, but I think it could have used a little bit more clarity. The "Outstanding" ad is the most unclear, and this may be a translation barrier. You are suggesting that the ring is outstanding? Or that life is outstanding because I have this cool ring? This is what I mean by the ads being a little unclear.
I took an international advertising course in undergrad and am well aware of the more subtle advertising approach in asian countries. This reminds me of some of that work that I studied and can understand and assume from your ads what you are trying to convey.
All of these questions of mine could probably be answered if you included a little bit of smaller text at the bottom saying a thing or two about the actual watch product..
Aside from all that, your sketches and digital work are beautiful! I cant wait to see more of those in the future!
